Emerald Cruises’ First Oceangoing Superyacht Celebrates Inaugural Sailing

Emerald Azzurra

Set to the backdrop of the Jordanian city of Aqaba, Emerald Cruises’ first oceangoing luxury yacht, Emerald Azzurra, departed on its inaugural sailing at the weekend (12 March).

Over two years in the making, Emerald Azzurra marks a milestone for the business as the cruise line’s first ocean-going vessel. Carrying just 100 guests in 50 deluxe staterooms and suites – of which over 80% feature a balcony – the new yacht is now sailing the eight-day Best of the Red Sea itinerary. Guests will call at the Egyptian resort towns of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, as well as Eilat in Israel, before returning to Aqaba for an included guided tour of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Petra.

Offering a luxurious small ship cruising experience to ports and harbours only accessible to small yachts, the custom-built vessel features modern, luxuriously appointed suites and a variety of public areas. The Wellness Centre features a spa, gym and infrared sauna for the ultimate indulgence, while the Sky Deck, provides panoramic views and a Spa Pool. Guests will also enjoy a stunning infinity-style pool on the Pool Deck.

“Every once in a while, a new yacht comes along in the industry and changes things. Emerald Azzurra is exactly that yacht,” said David Winterton, Global Director of Brand and Marketing at Emerald Cruises. “The level of luxury afforded to each guest, coupled with a diverse sailing program featuring sailings through the Adriatic Coast, the Mediterranean, and the Red Sea for its inaugural season, is truly groundbreaking.”

Angus Crichton, Director of Sales, Marketing & Product, Emerald Cruises said, “The sleek superyacht design of Emerald Azzurra provides a unique experience which has been warmly welcomed by Australians. Earlybird offers are still available on a selection of cabins for the second half of 2022 while 2023 is selling fast.”

Emerald Azzurra will be officially welcomed to the brand’s award-winning fleet in Venice before the ship repositions to the Mediterranean and the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Coast .

The new yacht will be joined by sister yacht Emerald Sakara in February 2023, with itineraries to the Seychelles, Black Sea and Middle East, on sale now.
